Uganda Trip

Two weeks ago I headed off to Uganda to look at potential schools for our children.

It was a really helpful few days.

I saw our new house (very nice, but I completely forgot to take any photos!).
I had a ride in our new car (an automatic, thankfully! Kampala is full of bumpy, muddy hills, so it is good that I can learn to cope with these hills with the help of automatic gears!).
I saw three potential schools.

They are ALL excellent schools. All have positives which make them unique. I enjoyed visiting them, chatting with staff about their curriculum, seeing the classrooms and working out which one might be the best fit for our children. We do have one that we feel may be the most suitable, so the application process has just begun; we hope to enrol our children for January.

During my 3 days in Uganda, I had the worst cold that I have had in years! I don't remember feeling that rotten since we lived through a winter in England- which would be around 12 years ago! This meant that I sneezed, coughed and blew my nose constantly. If I still have any friends in Kampala when we arrive, I will be impressed... they must be very gracious people to greet me again after all that sneezing and spluttering I subjected them to!

I arrived "home" in Nairobi late on Friday evening- just enough time to get some rest before I flew with the children to Juba on the following Monday morning... but that is another story for another day...
